lacrosse officiating info at your fingertips

Come and join the dazzle of zebras

Welcome to all lacrosse officials: new, current and about-to-be-new. The zebra community is small in comparision to the number of players and we need to increase the number of officials at all levels of lacrosse, so find out how to get involved and develop your officiating skills.

If you have ideas / suggestions for content or simply have officiating questions please get in touch.

Find an umpire

The umpire register lists the most current information we have, but we rely on individuals and their club / university to let us know of any changes. We are not clairvoyant - so please let us know of any changes as soon as you can.

Learn to umpire

There is a Lacrosse Umpire Development Pathway from beginner to international, with Level 2 being the first level beyond simply reading the rules. If you are interested in finding out more, please get in touch.

Rules of lacrosse

Federation of International Lacrosse rules and Lacrosse Scotland domestic rules for men and women. This covers field, indoor and 8 a-side versions of lacrosse.

Umpire video help

Sometimes it is hard to get enough game time, so watching game footage is another way of looking at lacrosse with an umpire's eye.
